Biography
Born in 1999 in Japan, Shuri Soga moved to
Vienna at the age of fifteen to continue his musical education. He completed his Bachelor’s degree in
Piano Performance at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and is currently pursuing his
Master’s degree at the Cologne University of Music and Dance.
He has received First Prize at the Franz Liszt Center International
Piano Competition(Spain), the sole First Prize at the International Competition
“Giovani Musicisti – Città di Treviso” (Italy), and Third
Prize at the International Béla Bartók Piano Competition in
Graz (Austria), where no First or Second Prize was awarded.
His artistic projects include the presentation of Steinway & Sons’ Spirio concert grand at the Wiener
Konzerthaus and the program “Poetic Language – Liszt’s ‘Speaking’ Piano Music”, performed on historical
Érard and Bösendorfer instruments at the Bibliothekskonzert in Raiding.
Since 2023, he has been a scholarship holder of Live Music Now Vienna and performs regularly in cultural
and social institutions. In addition, he is a scholarship recipient of the Dr. Carl Dörken Foundation as
part of a flute duo, supporting his chamber music activities.
He has further refined his artistic profile through masterclasses with distinguished pianists including
Prof. Christian A. Pohl, Prof. Markus Schirmer, Prof. Pavel Gililov, Prof. Bernd Goetzke, and Prof. Claudio
Martínez-Mehner.
